but i'm aware that in reality i probably look like an idiot!

Hotel California and Jehovahs Witnesses????

it occured to me the song hotel california describes the life of a jw....this songs lyrics describes a luxury resort where "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.

" i have listen to this song many times but the other day when it came the radio it hit me!!!

I got that back in 1977 when the song was first released. It was just one of a long series of cognitive "triggers" for me. Triggers that all added up and eventually led to me walking away from the Kult . .

There was a young fella I worked in with a machine shop in Manchester, NH in 1977. His name was Vernon. He sang in a local band and he would practice to tracks while working . . he was very good. I got to really hear the lyrics to this song while he practiced at work while operating a Burgmaster Machining Center making submarine parts, me too, at this point I wasn't going to let a little thing like that keep me from supporting my family . .

A Hendrix UBI (Useless Bit of Information), or Trivia, your Choice: Hendrix was opening for the Monkees during the Summer of 1967 tour, this was before he was a household name but after his June 1967 Monterey Pop Festival appearence.

BTW, if you are a Hendrix fan and have never seen the Monterey performance, do yourself a favour. I have seen it many times and my mouth still hangs open every time.

pink floyd in my opinion really kind of fused orchestration with electric guitars in a heavy progressive way which blazed the trail for progressive groups i feel.

I actually viewed the entire video/lecture and all I can say is thanks for posting. I was aware of Randy but had not read or seen anything from him till now. Truly inspiring. Been out of work (GIS geek, Telecomm, Analyst, etc) since April, Unemployment running out soon . . I needed something positive.
